How-To
Grant turned an inexpensive rectangular
tablecloth into a tailored skirt for the round end table.
Depending on the pattern and border design, a 60"x90"
cloth will give you enough fabric to skirt a table that’s no
more than 24" in diameter and 30" tall.
1.
Cut the short ends of the tablecloth (A) to the height of
your table plus 1" for seam allowance and an additional
1"—3" for any desired “puddling.” For a 30"-tall table, each
end section should measure 31"-34".
2. From the center of the cloth, cut a circle (B) that mea-
sures the diameter of your table plus 1" for seam allowance.
3. With right sides together, pin the skirt sections to the
round top section. The skirt pieces will be wider than the
circumference of the top, so you can either add boxed
pleats as you pin or simply cut the skirt pieces to fit.
